Brand new user trying to get this to work... I have been unable to find any help on this error:
Dev options are enabled and ADB Debugging is enabled as well.
Fire HD 10 7th Gen running 5.3.6.4
Any help is very much appreciated.

Dont update to FireOS 7.3.2.2, there is still no known way the Toolbox can disable the stock launcher and OTA updates on 7.3.2.2.I would like to do an OTA update on my Tablet (Fire 8 HD), but I last I heard was the Fire Toolbox can't work with the latest OTA update. Has this been fixed yet, or is the fix still a work-in-progress?

I assume the latest is 7.3.2.2...and I was able to use Fire Tools for it quite successfully.I would like to do an OTA update on my Tablet (Fire 8 HD), but I last I heard was the Fire Toolbox can't work with the latest OTA update. Has this been fixed yet, or is the fix still a work-in-progress?
Not working : launcher change and some OTA stuff.
Working : everything else I tried (Playstore, side loading, adb disable apps, etc).
That being said...mine is going back to Amazon. Can't even do Slack or Zoom voice ( not even video) without breakups, and these were a must for my use case.

Edit1: I don't know why, but a factory reset and re-setting up the device from scratch seems to have solved my issue
Thanks to the kind developer of this, hopefully I'll find some time to checkout+assist with the linux port on github
Hey there,
Thanks for making such a cool toolbox.. I'm not a fan of amazon software but decided it'd be worth buying one (even though I don't expect to get root anytime soon). Mostly because its hard to find **any modern tablet device** with decent ROMs.
So far everything has worked pretty much out of the box (Fire HD 10 [2021]) however my home button and recent button on the navigation do not work.
I've tried restoring the default Fire Launcher, and I've tried installing Nova and a couple others.. I've also uninstalled them.
Something went wrong in my initial setup dialogs and I'm wondering if that may be the cause, but I'm unsure what I can do right now. Everything is acceptable so far except ye.. "home button" kinda important to me.
I also noticed I cannot expand the drop down menu from the top (not that I really mind though, device is for a kid and he won't care either)
Personally I own nova prime so I would ideally like that, but not having a home button is rather annoying.. any advice you could give to debug this? (I'm a pretty experienced linux/android developer so feel free to get nerdy with me)

The only real soultion i know of is to ask somebody with a newer FireOS version to extract the Amazon app(s) you want (this can be done using a app like Package Manager)I used Fire Toolbox on two tablets (both on 7.3.1.9) and deactivated OTA updates. I am wondering how the system apps will be updated. Maybe a dumb question, but are the system apps updated via Amazon's appstore, because the system apps are not listed in the appstore? I am aware that Jeff's museum appstore is more or less a collection of historic app versions but I almost cannot believe that there should not be an update of at least one system app on both the Fire HD 8 (2020) and 10 (2021). Thanks

You were right, thank you.• You disabled something required for the language settings, you will need to find out what is required and enable it.• "managed browser" was (is?) a upstream chromium issue (see Bromite issue #832) you should report this to the Brave and Chromium developers also inform them that Bromite has a working patch for this issue.
For people who can't change language, I just reenabled amazon apps, changed language, and disabled them again.
Last point I forgot, is there a way as today to enable "add to home screen"? it seems disabled in all browsers I tried
Thanks again @Falcon342

Regarding the pattern lockscreen bug/issue that doesn't enable you to make certain changes due to no PIN, if you create a backup and then restore the tablet to use a PIN, does it reinstall all your apps and the launcher including their previous state and settings, does it reinstall apps and launcher to default/new settings, or does it simply preserve the .apk's for you to manually reinstall them once you have restored the backup?
Thanks for the fantastic tool and all the ongoing work.

I tried with Firefox and Vivaldi and i was able to add websites to my homescreen without any issue, maybe its your launcher? (i currently use Shade Launcher)You were right, thank you.

It is running fine. Going to have to try out Duo or Zoom when I get a chance.
On another front, a friend called a couple of nights ago wanting me to suggest what all to purchase for a 10" tablet. I had him get the 32GB HD10+, a charging dock, etc.
So we will see when that arrives which OS is on it.

Oh, and Merry Christmas

It's going good, thanks for asking! How are you doing my friend? Hope, you're having a good one so far!Hey @Datastream33 , how's it going? If you get stuck on 7.3.2.2 I'm sure we can chip in and get you a replacement on lower firmware.Oh, and Merry Christmas
You don't need to do that! I really do appreciate the thought though.
As far as 7.3.2.2 is concerned, some progress has been made as far as custom launchers go. It's not pretty... but as long as you don't need to reboot it will suffice.
Merry Christmas to you too my friend! Thanks and have a good day!

Regarding Nova Prime, I ended up installing it afterwards since it didn't take during my initial attempt with ToolBox.

Well, unless you warned him not to turn it on and supply his wifi password, by the time you see it, it'll have 7.3.2.2 on it!

Just wondering if there Is any hope that this version will be able to get auto updates turned off/custom launcher support? It seems a bit grim right now based on what i'm reading.
Anyway thank you for all your hard work! Is there anything people stuck on this version can do to help?

I sincerely hope everyone is doing good, and having a wonderful December so far!
Today marks the release of V26.0 of the Toolbox! So, without further ado... let's take a look at what this release has to offer!
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome... Screen!
You know, every time I run a build for the first time I go through the Theme Selector, then the Tour, and then the Welcome Screen. I just think to myself "this is just a mess" - so in this update I thought I'd focus on improving it and making it better. I started by re-designing the Welcome Screen and doing my best to link all three tools into something that looked visually appealing. Now, in a tabbed interface you'll find the Setup Tour in the very first tab, Theme Selection (with a new UI) in the second, Installation Management in the third, and finally in the fourth the Changelog. Now let's talk specifically about the Installation Management tool. This bad boy now has the ability to read installations from directories other than the default (localappdata\Datastream). So, if you've got your installations in a custom location, and you'd like to manage them, it's now possible to point the path to that location. This should help make managing installations a lot easier!
Custom Launchers on FireOS 7.3.2.2
As some of you may know, I bit the bullet and updated my tablet to the latest version of FireOS... to the dreaded 7.3.2.2. This update, from what I heard, caused the Custom Launcher and disabling OTAs tools to no longer function and after updating, I soon discovered that it was indeed the case. I then tried everything I could think and well really didn't turn up any valuable workarounds... until I tried the method we'd been using on older gen devices... and it worked! Of course, just like on the older gens, it has the drawback of being removed every time the device is rebooted. However, it's the only method I could find, so it's better than nothing, right?Anyway, while coding it in I decided to take the liberty of also clean up the code, and the UI a bit. What's cool is the tool will now read what generation your tablet is, and display what methods are available to use. You'll also find that the initial method selection UI is a lot more usable compared to its previous iteration.
Change the Timeout for the Display?
Ah, the latest addition to the General group in the Modify System Settings tool. This subtool not only allows you to alter the timeout to traditional values, but also allows you to set a custom timeout. Want your screen to sleep after 24 hours of inactivity? This one's for you folks who want to extend the timeout as much as you can. Just be careful, it may cause a burn-in if your tablet's screen remains on the same screen for too long!Let's Talk Linux Port Stuff
I guess the point of this section is to ask you guys if you're ok with updates to the VB version being slowed down, so I can focus more on the port? I'd also like to address a common question I get asked about it being open-source. Right now, I'm planning on it being closed-source for now. However, I am planning on making it open-source when I feel like the time is right. Please be patient! So, let's get back to the original question... are you guy's ok if I shift primary focus to the port?Wait, that's not everything! If you're interested in everything that's changed... please take a look at the changelog below:
Version 26.0 - Changelog[Welcome Screen]
[Device Information]

Ready to download V26.0? Head on over to the Download's section of the OP. By the way, because of some directory changes to the bin folder... the update will not show up in the Updater. It must be installed via the Installer or extracted from the Portable release.
Ok, my favorite part about of these release posts... sharing appreciation for you awesome folks! I just wanted to say I'm so blessed to be a part of the wonderful community over here on XDA. You guys are incredible people and in fact... this is perhaps the one place I've been on that I don't see negativity or people bullying one another. You guys are just AMAZING and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate everyone's support! Furthermore, you guys are what keep this project going, and it wouldn't be where it is today without you guys! So please pat yourself on the back - you deserve it!
Also, I'd like to place the limelight on my good friends @blaacksheep, and of course @Falcon342. I just can't express how much I appreciate all you've done for this thread! I haven't had the time to get on here because of work and when I come on the forum I see you guys helping out and answering questions. I really do appreciate the time and effort you two have put into being so freaking helpful! However, I've got to be honest, I'm extremely sad because I feel like I'm not doing enough. I'm sure you guys would like a little help (I'm gonna try harder to be more active on here when I can to hopefully help you guys out). Anyway, thank you guys again!! I really do appreciate it!!!!
Also, don't think I forgot about you donators! I just want to say I'm so honored that you'd donate your hard-earned cash. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve it. Guys and gals, THANK YOU so much for donating! I really do appreciate every penny!
This year has flown by and Christmas is right around the corner, so I just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS and I hope you all had a remarkable 2021! Let's hope 2022 is an even better year!
Well, that's all I've got for now! Have a good one, guys, and until next time... Peace!

I just downloaded the v26 portable, extracted it and on doubleclick it starts the adb, shows shortly no updates and then closes itself again (v25.2 portable still working normal).
This is what I can see, before it's closing again:
/edit
v25.2 is finding 2 Amazon Apps on my Fire HD 10 (2021) with OS 7.3.1.9 wich I can't disable:
App: Washington Post
Result: [FAILURE] Exception occurred while executing:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown package: com.washingtonpost.rainbow
App: Mopria Print Service
Result: [FAILURE] Exception occurred while executing:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown package: org.mopria.printplugin
I don't see any Washington Post Application on the Tablet, not sure about the Mopria Print Plugin though
